FAQ

Do you link to my bank accounts?

Only if you want to. BonusBreaker is manual by default, you enter the dates and amounts you track. On the Breaker plan, you can optionally connect your bank via Plaid for automatic tracking. We do not see your login, and you can disconnect anytime.

What is a Churn Score?

A Churn Score is a decay-weighted read on your ChexSystems and Early Warning Services exposure, expressed as a number from 0 to 100. Under 100, you're in play. At 100, you pause until it decays. It's the difference between knowing your limit before you apply and finding out the hard way at the bank.

What is the difference between ChexSystems and EWS?

ChexSystems tracks account openings, closures, and overdrafts, and it can be frozen. EWS is a fraud-oriented network co-owned by several large banks, it tracks more detail, cannot be frozen, and a negative mark there can follow you across every member bank. BonusBreaker scores both and weighs EWS more heavily because the damage is harder to undo.

Why does the order I open accounts in matter?

Every account you open uses up a limited amount of your Chex and EWS budget, with the biggest bonuses costing the most. Open them in the wrong order and you burn that budget before you reach the accounts with the largest payouts. BonusBreaker sequences your openings so you hit the high-value banks while you still have room to get approved.

How is this different from a spreadsheet?

A spreadsheet stores what you type. BonusBreaker scores your risk, tells you which banks are safe to open right now, sequences them in the optimal order, and reminds you before every direct deposit deadline. It's the difference between a map you have to redraw by hand and a GPS warning you before you miss your exit. We also pull updated bonus terms every week automatically, so your tracker stays current without you lifting a finger. Your spreadsheet never did that.

Will this affect my credit score?

Bank bonus tracking is about ChexSystems and EWS, which are separate from the credit bureaus that calculate your FICO score. Most deposit account openings do not involve a hard credit pull, though a few banks do one. BonusBreaker flags every bank that pulls credit before you open, so nothing catches you off guard.

What is Founding Member pricing?

The first 100 members can lock in BonusBreaker at $59 per year, a rate that stays locked for as long as the subscription stays active. Once all 100 slots are claimed, the founding rate closes.

How does the 14-day trial work?

Every account starts with 14 days of full Breaker access, our top plan. No card required to start. If you do not upgrade by day 14, your account automatically downgrades to the free Scout plan. Nothing you tracked disappears, it's waiting for you whenever you upgrade.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel anytime from your account settings. You keep access through the end of your billing period, then drop to the free Scout plan. Your tracked data stays with you.
